Operations Supervisor – Based Ireland Or Sweden Or Bulgaria

  1. I. Basic Purpose and Objective:

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for the day to day operations of the medical information/call center project team.  S/he provides support to staff members so that contracted services are provided in accordance with client and  policies and procedures and within regulatory guidelines.  The Operations Supervisor is also responsible for the training and supervision of medical information staff, including Medical Information Associates and/or Customer Assistance Specialists.  An integral part of this supervision is the development, coaching, and mentoring of the consultants to ensure quality operations.  The Operations Supervisor is instrumental to the maintenance of the client relationship.

Education and Experience:

  • BS  Or MSC
  • Note:  Some projects may allow for the following requirements:
  • BSN or equivalent experience
  • RN license

OR

  • Significant experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry with responsibilities involving counseling or providing medical information.
  • Or equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to perform tasks required of a Consultant

  • Working knowledge of  Standard Operating Procedures and global regulatory guidelines
  • Ability to teach/mentor team members
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to discipline employees, reward employees and perform timely and effective performance evaluations and coaching
  • Flexibility

Education and Experience:

  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Pharmacovigilance experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Multi-lingual – proficient in English and at least one other required language

  1. V. Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Immediate supervision of a small group of employees where the majority of the time is spent performing the same or directly related work of the type supervised. Responsible for assigning, reviewing or checking work. May provide input and/or prepare performance evaluations.

Immediate supervision over a unit, section or department where the majority of the time is spent assigning, reviewing, checking work and eliminating ordinary difficulties. Recommends candidates for hiring, termination; prepares and conducts performance appraisals and salary reviews, and applies company policies.

Direct supervisor of a department, section, unit or group involving responsibility for results in terms of cost, methods and personnel. Full accountability for hiring, discipline, discharge, performance appraisals, salary administration, etc.

  • Supervision – Performance management and employee development including 1:1 coaching sessions, recognition of trends and performance appraisals, salary administration for direct reports.  Handle employee relations issues, scheduling and time record verification, recruiting and billable hours management.
  • Operations – Complete client reports, SOP development, project troubleshooting involving interaction with lateral level or lower level individuals within the client’s or #### organization, maintain project knowledge, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures including SOP’s, protocols, FDA/ICH regulations, and Quality Assurance.
  • Communication – Acts as primary liaison between client for day to day operations,##### medical information project staff regarding day-to-day operational issues such as workflow processes, available resources, new initiatives affecting the project.
  • Training – Handle all aspects of project training including providing training to staff members, developing curriculum, and documenting and maintaining training records and curriculum
  • Other duties as assigned which may include: liaising with the business development team, presenting at PRM/ERMs, and functioning as a consultant to cover project services.
