We are looking for an experienced Danish-speaking bookkeeper or accounts assistant to join a busy and growing UK finance team. The role’s primary purpose is to provide accounting support for the Denmark team and assist with additional accounting tasks for the UK.
You will have good experience in a wide variety of accounting tasks, and be used to reporting to senior management on a monthly, quarterly, and annual cycle.
Requirements
Fluent Danish speaker, with business-level English
Proficient in the use of accounting software, such as Sage or Quickbooks
Proficient in building and working with spreadsheets, both for reporting and data management
Strong bookkeeping and accounting skills up to trial balance level
Competency in using CRM systems such as SalesForce or HubSpot
Competency in using communication tools such as Slack or Microsoft Teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Be comfortable in a paperless accounting environment
Main tasks
To be the primary financial point of contact for the Danish entity, for both clients and staff
Invoicing, receipt management, and sales ledger control
Credit control
Supplier invoice management, and purchase ledger control
Periodic VAT reporting to UK and Denmark
Expense management
Bank and cash management, and reconciliations
Journal posting and general ledger management
Ledger and nominal reconciliations on a periodic basis
Collect and report on data for management in Denmark, the UK, and for World headquarters
Assistance with annual budgets
Governance
Report unusual activities or system weaknesses to senior management
Attend finance team meetings and provide management information as and when required
Adhere to the company’s or organisation’s financial policies and procedures
Salary £35,000 to £40,000 dependent on experience and qualifications
