Work Visa

The UK Work Visa scheme has many varieties – employers that contract with Nordic Staff ONLY present jobs to candidates that qualify for either the Skilled Worker Visa or the Graduate Visa.

Most opportunities are available to Graduate Visa holders as they are already in the UK and have transitioned from the Student Visa scheme.

To qualify for a Graduate Visa you must:

  • be in the UK
  • your current visa is a Student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa
  • you studied a UK bachelor’s degree, postgraduate degree, or other eligible course for a minimum period with your Student visa or Tier 4 (General) student visa
  • your education provider (such as your university or college) has told the Home Office you’ve completed your course

Once granted the Graduate Visa will be for 2 years minimum with the opportunity to apply for further residency.

Some employers will offer work visa opportunities via the Skilled Worker Visa to applicants not currently in the UK.

To qualify for the Skilled Worker Visa you must:

  • have a confirmed job offer before you apply for your visa
  • work for a UK employer that’s been approved by the Home Office
  • have a ‘certificate of sponsorship’ from your employer with information about the role you’ve been offered in the UK
  • do a job that’s on the list of eligible occupations
  • meet required academic standards (usually a degree from a recognised supplier)
  • meet the required standard of fluency in English
  • be paid a minimum salary – how much depends on the type of work you do
